David Goldfield has had a long career in international business and government, working for several multinational companies in leadership roles as well as a posting with the Canadian Foreign Service in Venezuela from 1992 to 1995. Later he worked for the federal Export Development Corporation (EDC) for ten years as Regional Director for Latin America. After EDC, from 2008 to 2017, Goldfield went on to cofound a private investment fund business investing in the Latin America region in infrastructure and housing. The Ambassador’s Word, his first book, was a finalist in the 2008 Ottawa Book Awards. His second book, a novel published in 2018, Into The Volcano, is a political thriller novel based on true events in Latin America. He has also written a screenplay about a major terrorist attack in Mumbai called Mumbai Alive in 2024. Goldfield was also the originator and executive producer of a feature award winning documentary film about youth mental health called Connecting the Dots, produced and directed by Noemi Weis in 2021. He now lives in Ottawa and continues his interest in writing and film production.
